Derby's Story...
Hi there! My name is Derby! My foster mom gave me that name because she says I look like a racehorse with my white face and feet! So Kentucky Derby! Get it? I was born to a feral mom with my siblings and she was trapped with all of us and taken to my foster mom. I live with lots of other kittens and cats and 2 big dogs and I get along with everyone! I was born about July 31, 2014.

You couldn’t ask for a more affectionate kitten than me! I love to sit in my foster mom’s lap while she is at the computer because I know she will be there for a while and I will get lots of pets and cuddles while she is there. I also like to watch all the activity on her monitor. If she stops giving me attention, I will look up at her and meow a little to remind her I’m still there! She says my purring is outrageously loud and I wear out her sleeve doing my “Happy Feet”!

Derby is neutered, litterbox trained, has received age-appropriate vaccinations and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Derby, a Colmar Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Colmar, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Colmar.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colmar already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colmar breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colmar paves the way for another one to be saved.
