Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mattie is a very gentle and sweet, five to six-month-old, male orange tabby kitten who was hit by a car and landed at Chicago Animal Care and Control.
In stepped CARF to the rescue. Often a kitten this badly injured would be euthanized due to lack of funds. The Critical Animal Relief Foundation was established to provide urgent medical, surgical and fostering resources for non-terminal and terminal animals in need of safety, healing and the relief of pain and suffering when time is of the essence and resources are scarce.
Mattie was found to need femoral head ostectomy (FHO) surgery. He’s in the process of healing from an upper respiratory infection and will soon receive the pain-relieving surgery he needs.
If you’d like to donate toward’s sweet Mattie’s surgery and rehab, please send a donation via PayPal at carfforanimals@gmail.com
Mattie is resting comfortably at Village West Veterinary Hospital in Chicago and will get a fresh set of X-rays tomorrow. From the X-rays and records from CACC, it shows a pelvic fracture and likely some nerve damage as well.
If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Mattie following his surgery and helping with his rehab, please contact carfforanimals@gmail.com His adoption fee of $125 benefits the rescued pets of CARF.
