Handsome Homer is male Aussie/Lab mix who came to Furry Kids' Refuge when his time had run out at a local kill shelter.
He is so handsome in person with his shiny, soft, black coat with the white speckled markings that make us think he has Aussie in him. The body shape reminds us of a Lab mix. Two very wonderful breeds that are very smart and loyal.
Homer can be a bit timid when first meeting new people but he warms up quickly with a caring voice and loving touch. Once you win him over he is your best buddy! He would be fine with older children over the age of 12 year only because the younger ones are louder and usually more active.
Homer loves tennis balls and loves to run...he would make a great walking or jogging partner! ! He has a lot of energy at his age but is also very settled and laid back. Homer is great in the house, very well behaved. Homer is looking for a family that is wanting a furry kid that is loving and playful but also knows how to chill out with the family.
He is very good with female dogs but he is not always comfortable with other male dogs. He tends to act dominant unless the other male is very easy going. We can introduce your dog to Homer in a neutral setting if you are interested.
Homer has been neutered, heart worm tested negative, vaccinated, micro chipped. Please fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on 'Adopt A Dog' and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.
