My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pumpkin! Pumpkin is a 1-2year old Chihuahua mix, and one of the sweetest guys you will ever meet. All 10lbs of him is at his happiest rotating between playing with his human and doggie friends, then snuggling in a lap after.

Little Pumpkin ended up in a local city shelter, where he was completely shutting down. He was extremely scared, and spent his days hiding in his kennel shaking. Within hours of exiting the shelter, Pumpkin made best friends with his foster sister, and decided that his foster Mom wasn't too scary either! He is still very scared in new situations, and will freeze up. If you give him a few minutes to come to you on his own, he will love you forever. We think that young children would be too much for him as he adapts to new situations, but older kids who can give him his time would be fine. In the comfort of his own home, Pumpkin is outgoing, playful and a total lap warmer!

Pumpkin LOVES dogs of all sizes, and is happy sharing his bed and toys with his foster sister! We would love to send him to a home with a dog buddy, but this isn't a requirement. Pumpkin is good in his crate overnight, and is mostly housebroken. He has had accidents when left for the whole work day, so a midday bathroom break or pee pads should do the trick. Pumpkin is not a barker, and has adapted well to city condo living, so we think that he would be happy living anywhere. Leash walking seems new to Pumpkin, so he needs a little work here. He will let you put cute little sweaters on him, which makes him the cutest dog on the block!

The adoption fee is $350.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.Pumpkin
