Rusty's Story...
My name is Rusty and I am a 9 year old Golden Retriever mix. When you first meet me, you think I might be a cuddly red teddy bear. And I am - I mean I love attention from people and I am just the sweetest boy. My father passed away and his family took me to the shelter because they did not want to take care of me. I guess I am ok with that, I miss my Dad but I hear that I can have a great life with AGK. The doc said I was healthy. I am good with other dogs and I am quite active for a 9 year old. So if you are looking for a red lovable teddy bear, ask for me, Rusty.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Knoxville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
