My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Ginger, at only 4 weeks old and almost 2 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 30 - 40 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this brand new puppy...they lovingly rescued Ginger (and her 5 siblings!). Ginger is starting out with great energy. The excellent results of her vetting, baby temperament-testing..and of course her cottony coat and adorable puppy face didn't hurt - resulted in a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life.
Ginger is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She appears to be so smart...very typical of the cross of a these small Terriers. She's bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Ginger is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. Ginger has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - she would form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs & humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by group Obedience Classes. It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior.
Ginger LOVES kids and dogs and would be such a great family dog!!
We're open to Ginger finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Ginger seems to love children as well but we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids (10+) that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regiment. Ginger will be up to date on her vetting, however is considered to be too young to spay. Farfel's will cover the spaying costs as well as any further vaccinations/microchip necessary at our vet in Denver. Ginger is an adorable combination of some none shedding breeds, and therefore seems to be a lower-shedding pup. Due to her young age, however, we don't feel we can guarantee his suitability for an individual with severe allergy challenges. Ginger will arrive on transport in Denver in mid - late October.
