Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We often wonder what is running through people's minds when they make a decision to dump a wonderful and loving dog because she's become inconvenient...where is their heart?? Such are our thoughts with Emmy...and it's only great luck and a few loving humans who changed her destiny. Emmy was brought to a high-kill shelter after her owners left her on the streets. Just in time, a compassionate rescuer happened along the way and took pity on this adorable girl. To our joy, Emmy was meant to survive his ordeal and get rescued. She was immediately brought to be vetted and temperament tested and passed all with flying colors. She is now safely in her foster home...being nurtured with love and hugs while being taught skills so important in the development of any dog. Emmy is so over-the-top beautiful and loving - her photo absolutely does not do her justice! She tries so hard but we need to be reminded that shes a young girl..just about a year old and 47 lbs (perfect hiking size)... who needs to be shown the way by a patient and loving human who understands the boundaries necessary for any dog. Emmy is a willing student...with frequent socialization with both dogs and humans, she will continue along the path of a loving and well-adjusted adult dog. Positive reinforcement group training class is a great tool for family bonding as well as developing great behavior when out in the community. We are searching for an involved family for Emmy. She would love nothing more than being with her people. It will be dog-lovers who choose to have their dog involved in their life that would be perfect for this sweet pup. We don't want Emmy to be left behind while her people spend long hours at work or other activities. She is very active at and would be a great companion for hikes, dog park visits, or camping in the beautiful Colorado Rockies! She just naturally has a sweet temperament..while initially a bit shy.. that is perfect for a family with older children and other dogs. Emmy would also do very well as an only dog..she doesn't require that relationship to be happy.
Emmy is currently being fostered in Texas and will arrive in Colorado around before Thanksgiving. If interested in setting up a Meet and Greet with this sweet gal who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. When sending the application please put ATTN:CASEY in the subject line.
