My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rhys (Reese) is a sweetheart border collie who loves attention and wants nothing more than to please his foster parents. In our short time with him we've learned he gets along very well with his foster sister, tolerating her high energy pestering to play and often joining in for a romp in the fenced back yard.

Rhys also met a cat in his foster home. While interested and attentive to her, he has yet to charge her and is restrained with a strict “no”.

He is house-trained but has marked in the house once. Rhys isn't neutered yet, something that will happen in the next few days. We expect that, as well as continued training, should curb his marking. He's being newly crate trained when left alone or at night; and is taking to it well with only minimal whining at the beginning.

Rhys, who seems to be new to the leash, is learning quickly how to go on walks with almost no pulling, but does have some uneasiness with passing vehicles.

His worst habit is to jump up on you to ask for attention or tying to jump up on the couch. Rhys is corrected with a verbal no/down and push down if needed. Rhys is VERY attached to his people, and may have some slight separation anxiety. He has climbed 4 foot fences in order to get to his people. Because of this Rhys should not be left outside unsupervised in a yard with anything less than a 6ft privacy fence. We are hoping that once Rhys settles in and gets used to his routine, that he will not be so anxious when left alone.
Rhys is being fostered in Overland Park, KS
