Thelma's Story...
Thelma (and her gal pal, Louise) came in as a stray in the early morning hours, after running loose and presumably up to mischief, as their names suggest. She is a very nice, friendly girl who doesn't always display those qualities when in her kennel, but that's why it's really important to meet a shelter dog outside of their cage. When Thelma comes out, she is sweet and affectionate, playful and interactive -- just a lovely lady. She's a low rider and a little stocky, and it makes us love her all the more. Won't you come in and meet Part One of our female, dynamic duo?

Act quickly to adopt Thelma. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thelma, a Huntington Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Huntington, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Huntington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntington paves the way for another one to be saved.
