Mia is an adorable yorkie mix. She is estimated to be about 2 years old, with a sweet grin and charming disposition. Mia tends to be a bit shy and submissive to humans and dog companions. She enjoys playing with gentle dogs her age or will self amuse with a squeaky ball. Mia weighs about 10 lbs, has house manners and is crate trained. However, please never assume perfection, there is always a learning curve and schedule adaptation for every adoption. Mia is good with gentle cats and all people as well. She is a pretty quiet girl but will let you know if she needs to go out. Mia is looking for a loving home that will let her blossom. She may have had some prior abuse accounting for some of her shyness. Once she feels safe, her confidence will shine. Mia does have a low thyroid which requires daily pills and a blood test annually. Her thyroid meds will cost about $12.00 a month and will be needed for a lifetime. If you are unwilling to be committed to her minor medical needs, please do not apply. Mia is spayed, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative, had a recent dental and microchipped. If you are interested in Mia please contact us with questions and for an adoption application. We work full time and will contact you as soon as we can but please be patient.

About Rescue Tails Animal Welfare

About Our Rescue Group...

Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is dedicated to rehoming pets from high kill shelters. We choose an animal one at a time and evaluate what issues caused the animal to end up in the shelter and address those issues. Most often we find behavioral issues and/or medical issues . We deal with whatever it is to the best of our ability and then place the pet up for adoption to a responsible pet guardian. It is our goal to prevent the pet from returning to the system again. We work with the pets and carefully match them to their forever homes.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt any animal from Rescue Tails we require a completed and verified adoption application. Once we can review the application, we can set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household including pets are available for us and prospective pet to meet. Providing that goes well, we will set an appointment with you for a home visit. If all goes well we can proceed to the final step of finalizing the adoption.
