Texas's Info...

I am already neutered, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Texas's Story...
Big fan of: Sitting in laps, chasing feather wands, snuggling, playing with other kitties, cat-friendly dogs, and tuna-flavored cat treats.

Not a fan of: Not much! Texas is a funny, fearless guy who likes everyone and everything he encounters!

A little more: Texas came to PAWS as a kitten and was adopted out quickly. He was returned as a young adult when his family could no longer afford his care. Texas is currently spending some time in a foster home, and his fosters have nothing but amazing things to say about him! Texas is extremely affectionate and snuggly, and loves to explore. He enjoys climbing and can often be found on top of the kitchen cabinets or perched on a cat tree. He frequently plays with the resident male cat and has demonstrated perfect litter box habits.

Dream home: Because Texas has a lot of energy and craves human attention, his ideal home would be with adults who have had cats before and are around enough to play with him. He would be delighted to have another friendly cat to play with!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Texas, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
