Sweet, well-mannered gal looking for loving family, loads of attention and permanent home!
Our Dottie girl was rescued from a shelter after her family surrendered her there. It was clear from the start that Dottie had lived inside a home and was used to a crate. This girl is very well mannered, walks wonderfully on a leash, and has a very mild temperament about her. She is currently going through a basic dog training class and is learning fast! Dottie does get a little nervous in new environments and situations so she needs encouragement and patience to help boost her confidence. We would provide her new family with information and support for this.
Dottie was very uncomfortable with other dogs when she first came to us. It is likely that she did not have a lot of experience with them. She has made a few doggie friends since being with us and enjoys romping and playing with them. She would make a good companion for a younger, playful male dog, OR we also think she might enjoy being an only dog
Dottie has been introduced to several children at adoption events and did well with them. We will not place her in a home with young children, however, because she is a little nervous and we don't have enough information about her behavior with them in a living situation. Dottie also needs to go to a cat-free home.
This girl is truly an amazing dog and a favorite by our volunteers. If you're looking for a calm, well mannered, super sweet girl then you'd better snatch Dottie up before her foster mom decides to keep her. (Check out the photo of them on the sofa!)
