My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption & Sterilization Fees Apply ~ caarescue@gmail.com

My name is Dozer! I know it sounds kinda silly but it suits me quite well as I am just a happy go lucky, carefree, all four left paws pup … especially now that I am with CAA Rescue

All the volunteers are a little baffled how a 12 week old puppy like me could be walking the streets as a stray and then held at the local gas kill pound for 5 long days in a dirty cage waiting for someone to come claim me … but no one ever did. I guess that is what makes the volunteers at CAA Rescue look at me with those sad eyes!!! When I see them sad though I quickly cheer them up with my happy puppy tricks of knocking everything over in sight, tearing through the house like a mini bull dozer (… ahhahaa see now you get it) and coming up to them for cuddles and kisses! I especially like the cuddles and kisses!!!

There are blank slates and then there is ME!! At such a young age you don’t expect me to be dealing cards or anything but there should be some signs that I have been taught some basic obedience at this point and time … but nope! NADA! Or if I was taught it was not in any language my foster family knows.

I need someone who will spend the time training me! I am a super uber duper smart boy, foster mummy started clicker training with me on the first night I came into her home and WHAM I got it right away and started responding! I am very treat motivated so I am highly trainable and very attentive especially if you have those yummy freeze dried liver treats in your pocketses

I am still learning that business should be done outside… while I do, do it when I am outside I am still learning all the rules of the house. Foster mummy told me not to worry as she cleaned up my number 1 this morning; she said I was a smart boy and that with a loving and patient home I will learn in no time where da biz is to be done. I think my foster mummy is pretty darn awesome and I hope my next mummy will be as patient and kind and caring. It is kind of hard for me this time of year as I am little and with such a short coat I get cold really fast so being outside in chilly temperatures is really not my favorite thing.

Do NOT even ask about the leash training, we are so totally not there yet… as I mentioned I am a bit a goof ball with my long lanky legs stumbling through everything so right now foster mummy is focusing on basic obedience and house training and she says she is leaving my new family with the fun stuff to show me like walks on the leash, chasing balls and bringing them back, meeting new doggies and being polite with introductions!
I travel super well in the car with no signs of anxiety
To bring me home there will be adoption fee and a sterilization deposit fee. The adoption fee covers all my vetting: base vaccinations including rabies, deworming, neuter and micro chip at Animal 911 vet in Roxboro; my new family will have to make the remaining visits. The sterilization deposit will be returned on the day that I get neutered at Animal 911. CAA Rescue is asking for this sterilization deposit to protect me and my future, to ensure I am happy, safe and healthy for all time. So if you have puppy training knowledge, are a local family and would like to meet me in hopes of taking me home forever when I am ready to make the next big step in my life please email CAARescue@gmail.com and ask them for an application
