found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
And so Ebony (his foster mom calls him Zeke) patiently waited and waited for his tomorrow. He was overlooked by so many which is sad because a lot of folks missed out on an awesome pup! His foster mom is amazed at how well adjusted he is. This baby is one big gorgeous happy boy now. He is a 1 1/2 year old black lab who weighed 60 lbs when rescued. He should weigh closer to 80 lbs so he is being fed very well now. Not much is known about his past so let me tell you about his present. Zeke was pulled from the shelter on a Saturday afternoon, within seconds of making fast friends with his 10 other foster siblings of all ages and sizes, he was out the doggy door and exploring a big back yard. This gentle giant is calm and very well behaved. He plays great with anyone who wants to play and respects the boundaries of those who don't. He was an absolute breeze to give a bath to and seemed genuinely happy to be all cleaned up. He was readily accepted into the pack and showed no signs of being pushy or dominant. Zeke was immediately allowed to eat in the common area. He patiently waited his turn and responded well when told to leave other's food alone once he finished. He has very good house manners, goes potty outside and is non destructive. Being inside a house is most likely a new experience for him as there were a couple of episodes of marking but he responded well to correction by way of being led outside and given treats for going outside. He is kennel and crate trained although neither is necessary for this sweet boy. He was a little nervous on the trial runs of foster mom leaving the house but once he figured out he got treats when she left and that she always came back he was just fine. Within two days he was allowed free run of the house while foster mom was at work. Zeke is learning how to play with toys and just be a happy carefree well loved boy. He already sits on command and because he is eager to please, he is very trainable. Zeke is heartworm negative and on all preventatives needed to keep him healthy and critter free. He is neutered and up to date on all of his vaccinations. Did I mention that he was not afraid to go out in the rain and he stayed calm during a thunderstorm? This sweet boy catches on to routine quickly and is an absolute love bug in public. He greets everyone he meets and does quite well on leash and even better with a harness. His foster mom considers him to be cat friendly. For the most part he ignores them being around. He does try to communicate with one of the resident kittens by way of barking and tail wagging. The kitten must not be too concerned because he keeps coming back. One last thing to share about Zeke, he would be happiest in a home that has a yard with a tall fence and room to run especially since watching this boy run is a thing of beauty.
