Madelyn's Story...
Madelyn is a beautiful, snuggly sweet, fun and friendly, 18-month-old, female, black Maine Coon-mix cat with golden eyes looking for a loving guardian.

Madelyn was found as a skinny stray. She’s put on a lot of weight in her happy foster home where she sleeps in bed on her foster mom’s pillow. She purrs and snuggles when you hold her … she loves people, other cats, warm beds and attention.

Madelyn is now pleasantly plump, healthy, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, virus and fecal-tested, and micro-chipped. To meet and possibly adopt Madelyn, please contact her foster mom Kathy at kbwilson60612@yahoo.com

Her adoption fee of $95 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. She is currently living in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Madelyn, a Chicago Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
