Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bella came to us from the shelter during a time when the shelter was so over crowded and all the dogs were in immediate danger. We have included her shelter picture showing this filthy, matted little girl. A trip to the groomers and we were surprised to discover the Schnauzer underneath! Bella is a good hefty weight and appears to have had puppies in the past. Her one ear is damaged and looks like someone may have tried to crop it with a pair of scissors. She has a funny long tail and we think because of her coat and former appearance she may have Poodle in he breeding. She likes to charge at other dogs so we think she would do best in a home without other dogs, but she doesn't seem to actually do anything but charge. Bella needs to be walked with a harness because she shows some signs of trach damage when leash walked with a collar. Bella is a very sweet dog who is most likely housetrained or would be without much effort. She is about 4-5 years old but loves playing with her toys and is a lively girl. She has had a rough life we think, probably from a backyard breeder but she has won us over with her sweet personality. She shows a lot of promise to become a very wonderful companion.
Bella's adoption fee is $275 to help offset the costs of getting her all ready for adoption. She will be spayed, microchipped and heartworm tested prior to adoption and has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and parasite control. For more information on adopting Bella, please contact DAWN AT BLACKDOGSRESCUE@ICLOUD.COM. We would be happy to get you started on the process. Bella will then be available to meet her pre-approved adopter at an upcoming meet and greet in Hagerstown, MD.
Blackdogs Rescue rescues dogs from rural shelters who are in imminent danger of euthanasia or in need of immediate medical care. Our rescue functions as emergency triage for urgent dogs. Our goal is to assess, bring up to date on medical care and provide haven until their forever families are found. But our work does not end there, we keep in close touch with our adopters and continue to offer support and help through our adopters' group on facebook.
