My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whoever named this little man knew what they were doing. Papi is an endearing word for dad…and that is how he behaves. He is the one who watches over things……the playfulness of youth has left him. Papi is a bit cautious around strangers, making him appear reserved.

In our small dog play group Papi is the one who acts as security officer. He checks in with the volunteers for a brief lap cuddle or some gentle petting, but prefers to be down on the floor with the other dogs in group.

Papi was surrendered. His people told us that he was never left alone, and that he can be a bit of an escape artist in the yard. He can be protective of his family, but is a friendly boy. He wants attention but in a refined way.

Papi does well with cats, but we don't know about children. Due to his caution and our lack of knowledge regarding children, he should be in a home with adults. Children over the age of 12 would probably work as long as they have been taught how to be nice to pets.
