My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet big Moe! He's a purebred Boston terrier boy that the vet estimates to be about 7 years old and he weighs 35 lb.

An animal shelter pleaded for rescue to take Moe a few months ago in an emergency situation. He was in severe pain. Come to find out, he had eaten garbage and had to have his stomach opened up and they pulled out Subway papers and plastic, among other things. He also had some breathing problems that were made worse by the pain. Once he had surgery and was better, the breathing settled down, but he has something like asthma in humans. He is on a medication called Theophylline that helps him breathe normally. This medication is not expensive and he needs to remain on it for life.

Moe is a very sweet boy and not very active, so he would make a better pet for a less active family. He will, however, try to dart out the door, so a fenced yard would be very helpful when he needs to go outside. He spends most of his time on the couch sleeping and snoring:) He likes to take short walks.

Moe is crate trained but does not like staying there for long periods of time. If not in his crate, he does like to explore but has not damaged anything. He does like some chew toys but is not a big player with toys. He does like to get in your lap but he's not big on kisses. He does well with other dogs, but we do not know about cats. He is in a foster home with older children, but would probably be fine with younger ones.

Moe is house-trained, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped.

To find out more about Moe, call his foster dad, Jud, at (706)436-3743. To adopt Moe, visit bostonrescueofsc.com and fill out the adoption application. Moe's adoption fee is $300.
