My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jesse is a handsome, young dog who has become a staff and volunteer favorite at the shelter. He is a friendly, confident boy who adores people. Jesse walks nicely on a loose leash and enjoys ambling in the park and frolicking in the tall grass. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle with his person -- he would happily climb into an available lap if it was big enough to hold him!

Jesse participates in big dog playgroups at the shelter and enjoys romping and wrestling with his canine friends. He has also been cat tested and shows potential for living in a home with a dog-savvy cat. Jesse attends weekly BAD RAP training classes with a volunteer handler and can continue classes for FREE ($100 value) with his BACS adopters after he goes home. He is very comfortable in class, moves easily among the other dogs, gives great eye contact to his handler, and knows his basic commands. Good boy!

Unfortunately, Jesse has partial ACL tears in both of his knees. Although he is getting around fine now, he needs surgery to avoid further injury and future lameness. The good news is we are able to cover his medical costs, however, he needs to be settled into a home to receive surgery. We are searching for a foster home that can commit to caring for Jesse while he receives treatment and until he is adopted. Jesse's prognosis for a healthy, active life following surgery is excellent. Jesse is such a great dog and we are eager to see him move on to enjoy a pain-free life in a loving home!
