Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Eko is a 6 month old Shiba/Jindo puppy who is deaf and may have some neurological issues which are yet to be determined. Eko was very lucky to find an extraordinary family that went out of their way to get her to safety, give her the top medical care, train her and selectively interview rescues to find the best fit. Since coming to DCSIR, Eko has had excellent medical care, can walk a straight line, sit to hand signal and even give paw! She might be deaf but she is a confident pup, super smart and already learning signs for things like sit, good job and down. She is learning to ring bells to let everyone know when she needs to go outside and how to walk on a harness so she can explore. She loves playing outside, especially with other dogs, and has been enjoying jumping into leaf piles or running around the backyard.
Eko will be thoroughly vetted and assessed prior to adoption. Please ask for our resources for training and living with deaf dogs. To find out more about Eko, email adoption@dcsir.org and tell them that you’d like to adopt!
