My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brutus is a sweet 1 year pitbull mix (maybe Great Dane?)! He is highly food motivated and easily trainable.

Do you like to hike, run or bike? He's your dog! Brutus would love to join an active family. He has lived with cats. They did not care for him but he was very curious about them. He mostly tries to lick them or play with them. But if they run he will chase after them. So a dog savvy cat is ideal.

He is still very much a puppy so he will need to continue his training. So far he knows: sit, stay, lay down, go to bed, leave it, roll over, shake and high five. He's a clumsy loaf, it's sure to make you laugh. One of things you will need to continue is training with is his leash reactivity. He is being conditioned to remain calm when he sees other dogs with the use of high value treats. It's been very effective but should be continued. Off leash and at places like the dog park he is great. I've even seen him adjust his play style to match the dog he is playing with.

Because he's big (72lbs and growing?) and clumsy, I don't recommend him with smaller children. He would absolutely love a home with another dog or two.

The reason he is being rehomed is his owner has finally admitted that having a dog isn't going to change his activity level. In other words, the owner is lazy and Brutus is active. (I'm the owner so it's ok I called myself lazy.) It really breaks my heart to give him up but it's better for him to get the exercise he needs. He has a lot of love to give.

Brutus's adoption donation is $100 in order to help other dogs in need.
