Jezebel's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Jezebel's Story...
Jezebel is a 5 year old spayed female Dachshund. She is very friendly and gets along with other dogs that have a calm demeanor. We believe she is somewhat housetrained, she has accidents in her kennel but when we take her out she goes fairly quickly. So, she might possibly have been pee pad trained before and hasn't learned to hold it for very long. She is great about being handled and walks great on a leash!

$150 Adoption Fee for all Dogs and Puppies. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, a heartworm/lymes test (for adults), microchip, and all age appropriate vaccinations. (Puppies are too young for the test but will be started on preventative.)

SHELTER HOURS: 1:00pm – 6:00pm Tuesday - Thursday; 12:00pm – 4:00pm Friday and Saturday; 1pm-4pm Sunday; Closed Monday. We welcome adoptions from people living out of the area or outside the state of Virginia. The application process is completed in person at the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jezebel, a Staunton Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
