Here's what the humans have to say about me:
All of the Farfel's Rescue employees and volunteers hi-fived each other when we got the news that Dora the maltipoo (with a little something else in there too), was safe and would be making her way to Farfel's. They're an up and coming popular designer mix breed. We had been on edge all day waiting for the word that this adorable puppy was out of the shelter and truly rescued. The part that was so sad is that Dora, at only 12 weeks old, was about to be euthanized simply because the high-kill shelter had run out of cages. Dora is a virtually perfect puppy and at just 3 months old and about 3lbs (Dora is expected to weigh about 7 - 12 lbs when full-grown) and deserves a great forever home that will give her an awesome start in life. At this point, Dora loves other dogs and every human she's ever encountered. We would love Dora's great temperament to be nurtured with loving yet clear guidelines through puppy socialization classes and group positive reinforcement obedience. She responds so well to boundaries that are clear and lovingly communicated. Dora is a healthy and active young puppy who would be head over heels with joy to walk a Colorado trail and spend fun, outdoor time with her favorite people and canines. Dora is a blank slate at this point.... just waiting to be taught appropriate behavior to be the greatest adult dog ever! She has the capability to truly shine if given huge amounts of love and recognition for great behavior. We are searching for a family that is motivated to spend the time necessary to housebreak and train this young pup with the amazing temperament....they will be rewarded a thousand times over with loyalty and devotion. We think Dora would be very happy with either an active retired couple (or individual) or a family that enjoys spending lots of quality time with their pup. She's great in the car and very excited to learn the socialization skills that will enable her to accompany her family virtually everywhere they go.
Dora appears to have picked up the maltese/poodle gene and seems to be a non-shedding girl. It's hard to tell conclusively, however, since she still has her baby coat. Dora will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her adult coat shiny and healthy.
Dora will arrive on transport in Boulder very soon. If interested in this fun-loving and very sweet companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional family companion.
