Sweetie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Sweetie's Story...
"Sweetie" is a 8 year old purebred Shih Tzu. His name fits him perfectly. He wants nothing more to be sweet and to sit in your lap. Sweetie has a sad story. He has had three previous owners, all being mature women who have either suddenly passed away or had failing health, who could no longer care for him. We want to make sure Sweetie's adoption is to a forever home where he can live out the rest of his life.

He is 17 lbs and requires a special diet, which includes Science Diet dry D/D Duck Formula. Although he is good with other dogs and cats, Sweetie would be best in an adult only home-where he is the center of attention. If you are interested, please fill out our online adoption application at:

Once your application has been reviewed and approved, we will contact you!

Sweetie was adopted to a great home, but is coming back after only one month, as they are having a "change in living" plans.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweetie, a Hillsboro Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Hillsboro, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Hillsboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hillsboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hillsboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hillsboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
