Wando's Story...
NAME: Wanda
AGE: 5 months
WEIGHT: 22lbs
MICROCHIP#: 900108000741300

Wando's life began with constant fear and threats as a stray at a park.
Being an uncompetitive little pup struggling for food with other big strays, he certainly had no chance to find food scraps if there was any. Wando was getting thinner and weaker as time went by. One day, Wando was badly hurt, he was dragging his hind right leg leaving a trail of blood. He was whimpering in pain and drew the attention of a rescuer happened to be nearby. The rescuer was shocked by the scene, she scooped him up and rushed to the vet.

Wando's injured leg was badly infected and broken, the vet concluded it was beyond repair and had to be amputated. Wando bravely survived the surgery and started his road to recovery at the foster home.

Now Wando is fully recovered. He is adjusting well walking on three legs. In foster home he likes to sit quietly on his bed watching other dogs and caretakers walking past him, he would stand up and walk right up to whoever is approaching for affection. He may retreat from sudden human hand approach which we believe is a result of his past trauma, but he will warm up when he knows you're friendly. Basically Wando is a very friendly boy who is easy to bond with some treat. He craves so much for a home where there is a soft bed and someone who will give him the attention he so craves and will love and cherish him for the gentle soul that he is.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wando, a Castro Valley Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
