My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here is beautiful Julep! She’s the coolest coonhound EVER! Julep is 8-9 months old, she weighs only 28lbs now, but she should be about 30-35lbs as she is rather on the thin side! Julep was patiently waiting for foster mom Tracy to come find her at the Gordon Co. Animal shelter in rural north Georgia. Julep was either left to fend for herself out, dumped by her owner or wandered into the road…regardless she is one lucky dog! Miss Julep is outgoing and social, very loving and very affectionate. She loves attention and melts at your touch! Tracy thinks she was carried as a puppy, since now that she is full grown she likes to put her paws around your waste- as to be picked up! She loves kids, is extremely playful with other dogs and ignores the kitties. Tracy has farm animals and she is good around her horses and her pet pig too! Julep is a bit vocal when she gets excited (she is a hound) but quiets down when you tell her to and is awesome in the house and her crate. She’s pretty much totally house broken and would be great as a daily walking or running partner. Julep has a beautiful smooth coat, long silky ears and sweetest eyes! Wherever this lovely hound girl ends up will be one lucky family. She is crate trained, good in the car and getting much better on the leash. She has great energy- but not crazy energy! She will bond quickly with you and give you hugs and kisses the minute she meets you. Lovely Julep deserves a life of comfort and fun after getting off to a crappy start in the south. Julep has many dogs playmate’s at foster Tracy’s house, and gets along well with them all- from littlest lab puppy to big bully boys…she’s so much fun to watch run and play. She has no problem with her confidence, and is working on her basic commands, Where she came from was not abusive, but most likely had too many dogs. She’ll love being part of your family, and could really enjoy it if you had another dog or kids to go to training class with her! Julep enjoys everything about the outdoors and will love your trips to the beach or the mountains. She will make a terrific companion, and maybe even a candidate for agility! Julep will be leaving crappy Georgia on Dec 2nd and arriving in the Seattle are on sat Dec 2nd. To adopt Miss southern girl Julep, please go to www.raincityrescue.com (choose adopt tab). Email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com with any questions and her adoption fee is $400. You can’t help but love this totally sweet, loyal and super-friendly redbone baby girl- be ready to start her great new life in time for great holiday fun!
