Casey's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Casey's Story...
Casey is an 11 year old black and tan long hair standard weighing in at 20 pounds. He was surrendered to CCDR due to his mom of 10 1/2 years going into a nursing home.

Casey is a very sweet gentleman looking for a mature home in which to retire. Even at 11 years old, Casey is full of fun and silly antics. He loves to run and play out side, to play chase with his people and he loves to snuggle on the couch watching TV. Casey also enjoys a good brushing and will groan to beg for a brushing.

Casey gets along just fine with the 3 Dachshunds and cats in his foster home. He is quite aloof and doesn’t seem to bother much with any of them. He goes about his day keeping to himself. He sleeps well in his crate at night or when he can not be supervised.

His potty habits are not the greatest but with consistency and gentle training, he is learning to equate being outside with toileting. He is up to date on vaccines and neutered. Casey had his left eye removed due to severe dry eye. He has recovered quite nicely and is a much happier fellow.

Casey would do best in an adult only home or a home with grown children who are respectful of his senior space. Casey does not like a loud active environment therefore he will not be adopted to a home with children under 16 years old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Casey, a All of New England Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in All of New England, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in All of New England.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in All of New England already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a All of New England breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in All of New England paves the way for another one to be saved.
