My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuers in saving Dana...they could see that her temperament was so loving and sweet that they couldn't allow her to be euthanized. Dana was immediately brought to be vetted and temperament tested...she passed both with flying colors and was brought to a great Texas foster home to begin her education around house manners and socialization. It turns out that Dana, at only 8 months old and 18 lbs (expected to be about 22 lbs when full-grown) is so kind and cooperative that it's been a fun and rewarding experience for her foster mom. She's like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her. If Dana continues this regiment of socialization and classes that promote positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with her people...Dana will become a well-adjusted and devoted adult companion.
Dana is a gorgeous Poodle with a shining coat that speaks of puppyish good health. Sadly, it appears that Dana's amazing coat has never been cared for. Farfel's will be happy to cover the cost of a spa day for this beautiful girl if she arrives on transport having not been groomed. Her sweet..yet a bit shy initially... demeanor is just who she is. She's just a bit more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If you pass her kindness assessment..Dana is your very best friend and is very interested in some serious bonding and lap time.
If Dana is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines she will become a well-adjusted adult who respects her people as her leaders. This respect will follow her out into the community and will make Dana a pleasure to be with. This is the type of kind and loving, yet clear, family we're searching for for Dana. Since she's just a young pup, we also feel it's very important that Dana is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. She will be a great size to enjoy long walks and snow fun in the Colorado mountains. We'd also like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Dana can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany her family just about anywhere.
Dana is a non-shedding girl with the potential..with great nutrition and care.. for a stunning, cottony-soft coat. She will therefore require periodic grooming to keep her coat healthy and matt-free.

Dana will arrive on transport in Boulder on 12/5/14. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this sweet and devoted companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
