My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, My name is Toby.

Up until last weekend, my life was pretty normal. I had a nice home, with a Mom & Dad, and a nice cushy bed with toys…..It’s been that way all 10 years of my life…. I thought it would always be that way, but that all changed for me within a blink of an eye.

One day I went for a ride with my dad like I always did, but this time….he brought my toys and my favorite blanket along. I didn’t think much of it at first, other than this is awesome!

But that feeling soon turned into sadness. Dad turned into a place we’ve never been and where lots of other dogs were. It was very scary….They were all barking at me. Dad handed my leash to the lady at the desk and said, “I know you kids will take good care of him.” That is the last time I saw my dad……….

The lady behind the desk walked me down the cold hallway to a caged area and placed me inside. My cage looked a little better that some of the cages because my cage was special. I could go inside and outside if I wanted too. I spent most of that afternoon resting on my blanket with my toy rabbit and cat, waiting for dad to return.

Later that night, the place got very quiet, so I decided to go outside to see what was taking Dad so long. That was one bad idea for me. When I went outside, my door got stuck. I had to spend the entire night outside, on one of the coldest nights we’ve had yet. I’ve never been so scared.

Someone finally found me, later that next morning and brought me in to warm up. I don’t think I’ve ever been so cold. Soon, new dogs started to arrive, and they put one in with me. I heard somebody say it was because they had no more room. I didn’t mind…..after all, my dad was picking me up.

Dinner time came and I began to eat, and all of a sudden that beagle boy they put in with me, bit me in the face. I was so scared. I began to cry out and a lady came and pulled him away from me. I was then placed in a cage all by myself. To make a long story short my dad never returned for me……

A nice lady with Schnauzer Rescue Is who came to pick me up. She was very upset with how my eye looked after being bit, so she took me to the animal Hospital where they gave me some medicine for my eye, and for a Respiratory Infection that I probably got from spending that one night out side. I am so happy I only had to spend one day and night at that awful place.

Life is certainly looking up for me now. My life is finally getting back to normal. I now spend my days lying on the couch with my foster family or in my new bed with toys. I spend a lot of time with my 4 fur brothers and 1 fur sister, and some time with the cat. He’s kind of boring though….

I am now looking for a family to call my own, if you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application for Toby
