My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Another update on Fig 1/27/15: Fig is being fostered and is currently staying in 1 large room where she is very happy. She loves to play and is described as very "dog like" by her foster mom. Fig loves being pet and loves to rest beside her human or sit in her lap. She has a terrific personality and has adapted quite quickly to her foster home so she should acclimate well to a new permanent home. She does not try to escape were she is so we don't think she will try to escape outdoors and she seems content with the space she is given. Fig loves her windows and really enjoys watching the birds and squirrels outside. Fig is waiting for her forever home. Please consider adopting Fig and giving her a second chance at life.

UPDATED 1/3/15: Fig has been in foster care and we now have pictures of her to post for everyone to see. She has adorable long ear hair!!! You can't see in the pictures but she has a small button nub of a tail. Such a cutie! We have also learned that Fig would do fine as an only cat. She is being fostered with 1 kitten but prefers to not have any interaction with this kitten if possible. She is a petite girl and would make a great companion for someone in an apartment or a single person needing a buddy. Fig won't require a lot of room and would do fine in a quiet home. Please contact us at 352-339-3352 for more information about adopting Fig.
POSTED 11/26/14: Fig was adopted from our rescue as a kitten 2 years ago. She was recently found as a stray in a local shelter and returned to us because of her microchip. She is an adorable gray, tan, and white, medium haired, manx kitty weighing only 7 lbs at 2 years of age. Fig is super sweet and loving, even with all that she has had to go through in the past few days. She has just arrived to rescue but we can already tell she has had a rough time as a stray. Fig has a mild skin condition that the vet feels is most likely caused by fleas. She should improve now that she is on prevention and inside where it is warm and safe. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this sweet, petite, manx kitty, please contact us.

You can e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for an adoption application or call our adoption coordinator, Robin, at 352-339-3352 for more information about our adoption process and our adoptable animals.

We have many cats and kittens available for adoption throughout the year. Our kittens are in foster homes during the week where they receive the love and attention they need to grow and thrive.

All of our cats and kittens have been leukemia tested, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas with advantage, spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They also receive any other necessary treatment while in our program such as treatment for ear mites, respiratory infections, etc. Our adoption fee is $100 to help cover a portion of the medical and care costs.
