My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone dainty Daphne here...

I am a young (a little over a year old) beautiful beagle. I am a very tiny beagle. I only weigh about 14 lbs. I have lots and lots of energy. I can go for hours playing at my foster home, so I am very lucky to have other beagles to play with here. I run in the fenced in yard with the youngest of the beagle boys. We play chase and sometimes I chase him and sometimes I make him chase me. I am really fast. My foster parents call me very athletic. Not only do I run fast but I can jump really high. I can jump onto the kitchen stool which foster mom thinks is a bad thing. Hmmm, I wonder why - maybe because I can then get onto the kitchen island and look for forgotten/lost food. Ha Ha! I am all about trying to get some "people" food. But mommy says I can't have any so I can keep my girly figure.

I am completely house trained. I always potty outside. I let you know by going to the door. When foster mom runs errands, I am crated with a KONG along side the other three beagles. I keep my crate nice and clean. I am also crated at night although at night I probably could sleep on the bed with you, but foster mom says because there are so many dogs and I am so young I probably would start playing instead of sleeping in the middle of the night.

I eat my food slowly and chew it. The other beagles in the house gulp theirs down and try to get into my dish but foster mom will not let them. I love to play with toys, even by myself. I toss them in the air and catch them. I also love to chew on rawhide, cow hooves, and busy bones. They keep me entertained and out of mischief foster mom says.

Now for the really important stuff, foster mom says although everyone thinks I am very cute (and I am) I would not do well in a home with younger kids. Where I came from before MW BREW was not a very good situation. I do not like loud noises and hands over my head or anyone grabbing for my collar unless I know you for awhile. Foster mom says the kids would move too fast for me. And while playing with other dogs, I sometimes forget if a person would reach their hand in that you are not a dog playing with me. Foster mom thinks someone used to be mean to me. As long as you go slow around me and give me lots of loving like foster mom and dad are showing me, I will continue to learn to trust more. It is just going to take patience and love.
