My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 11/19/14: Dusty blood work came back looking good. He was not happy when he felt the needle, but otherwise was friendly to everyone. Surgery is not needed, he has lost a few pounds which has made a huge improvement with his walking. I still have some pain meds to give as needed, but he has not needed them for several days now. He is not acting out at all in the last week or more. I think it was more trust issues and not being well cared for that caused him to feel the need to protect himself.

I would like to continue working with him for at least a few more weeks before trying to place him, just to make sure he won't revert back to old behaviors.

Dusty is a 14 pound, 10 year old yorkie being fostered near Des Moines, Iowa

Initial Bio 11/6/14: Dusty was an owner surrender to the Wisconsin Humane Society. He was in poor condition (we have never seen so much matting on a dog) and he was displaying some behavior issues. We rescued him and asked to have him shaved at the same time his neuter and dental were performed. Dusty has hip dysplasia which is causing him pain. We will be seeking a vet opinion on surgery to help correct this condition. Watch for more updates on this sweet boy.
