My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

No one ever wants their personal business splashed over the news and Internet. But there it was in all its glowing horribleness: my life as a neglected dog. “Product of a puppy mill,” I hear them solemnly whisper as I go by. I am not looking for pity. No, I didn't have the best upbringing, but I will not let that define me as a dog or what I can do with my future. I know that I can make a family happy. It may not be that picture perfect family, but it will be a perfect family for me. A family that has the patience for my shyness and insecurities. A family that will commit to the time needed to help me blossom. A family that can embrace my imperfections. My family. I get along with other dogs well, and they do help me feel more confident, but I would really love to be the center of someone’s world, for once. Children 8+ would be wonderful to live with if they can be calm and respectful. I'm not into too much excitement, and I like things mellow. My nervousness comes from never having had consistency or positive engagement growing up, but it is one of the first things I would like to work on. I have been crate training since coming here and am making really good progress. It's made me eager for all of the other things I can learn. But first I want to learn more about you! 4 years old- 65lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes microchip, spay, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.
