Abigail 2's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This extra-large hush puppy is quite a lap-full. Abbie uses the doggie door quite well, and even whines to go out during the night, and has had no accidents in the house. She loves to go on walks, and is a fine walking companion, allowing the human to be the leader. She loves the new NRH dogpark. The first few trips to the dog park, she just drooled (because she was nervous) now she runs and runs and runs, barking all the time. She gets along well with other dogs and people, but should use caution around small children. Abigail sleeps next to her fosters bed on the floor, on the couch to watch tv,and likes to ride in the car. Abbie is a Velcro dog that loves to stick right with you. She will welcome you home with enthusiastic vocals, to make sure you notice that she missed you. Abbie is a fussy eater but has no bad habits, except for being very vocal. Abigail is here to show you that being a Plus size can be a real Plus! Do you have enough room for Abbie? She would love to share her life with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abigail 2, a Grapevine Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Grapevine, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Grapevine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grapevine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grapevine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grapevine paves the way for another one to be saved.
