Major General's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Major General means he's a 2 star General, and he will really take command! Major weighs a full 80 pounds, and will no doubt be the biggest basset at this year's Shuffle! But don't let this big boy and his big WOOF fool you as Major General is very gentle and sweet. He is a very laid-back, calm boy who needs an affectionate environment where he will be snuggled and hugged. Major General is house trained and gets along with other dogs. He requires moderate amounts of exercise and lots of dog treats and kisses. He would love to be the 'Commander in Woof' of your life, if you have room for a Majorly cool looking hound.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Major General, a Grapevine Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Grapevine, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Grapevine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grapevine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grapevine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grapevine paves the way for another one to be saved.
