Sam's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Sam's Story...
Sam's family is unable to keep her because one of her human siblings has developed a severe allergy. Please consider adopting her. From the family: Hi. Sam is a great dog. She's quiet and just wants to be with her humans. She is friendly and is potty trained. She knows her basic commands and is crate trained. She gets along great with other dogs and kids. She hasn't been around any cats, so I can't say what her demeanor would be like. She is a total people person dog. She is VERY smart. Hardly ever barks unless she's alerting you of something. It breaks my heart to see her go. But since we discovered my son is allergic, she is quarantined to a small area of our house and that is no way for her to live. I walk her a lot. She's pretty good on the leash once she gets over the initial excitement of going for a walk. She's healthy. We haven't had to take her to the vet yet since she's not due for her shots until January. She is on monthly flea control. Her only drawbacks are that she likes to dig, A LOT, and her jumpy nature. She has never been hit or anything like that, but she is very jumpy. If the leash touches her butt when we are on a walk, she will jump up like she's been electrocuted! I have NEVER seen her be aggressive. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Very, very sweet, lovable girl.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Covington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Covington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home.
