MOLLY's Story...
My name is Molly, and I'm a 4 year-old border collie mix .
I was picked up after
surviving the streets of Memphis for 2 months, and felt broken once I
was caught. On Thursday 20, 2014, my name was on a terrifying list,
the one that all dogs and kitties fear to be on, the euthanasia list.
I thought there was no hope for me, and I saw a man with a leash
leading me somewhere.... I felt impending doom was coming my way.
Instead, I was led near the door by the exit of the building, and a
strange lady came and took me in her car, and my days of fear were
over!
My temporary foster mom let a nice lady named Linda take care of me
while Blues City Rescue finds me my forever home, and boy do I want
one!
Here's why you should adopt me: I'm a very polite dog, I take treats
gently, and don't care if someone is near my food bowl. I am
completely potty- trained. and know how to sit and lie down. Like most
border collies, I like to get my exercise in, so I would love someone
to take me on walks and throw tennis balls for me to catch. I love
walking near the Mississippi River and the trails of Tennessee. I am
more mellow than most in my breed. I am an indoor dog. Big soft
doggie beds are my favorite. I love having a bed by my human's bed so
we can snore together. My foster mom says I'm such a
good girl, and that she wants the best for a dog like me.
Here's some other things you should know about me. I am a very
sensitive and loving dog, my forever home needs to give me a lot of
attention and time, so I need a family that has time to spend with me
in order to make me a happy pup. Long hours would make me depressed
and sad. My temporary foster mom says that I am her sidekick, and I
would love to be yours! I also would do very well in a quiet
household. Loud music and the Sopranos (much to my foster mom's
chagrin), makes me nervous and I leave the room. I do, however, enjoy
a little Mazzy Star and Ellie Golding when my foster mom plays it in
the car (volume low, of course). I need someone to take me on a walk
at least once a day, you know it fulfills a border collie's life to
enjoy many walks. Cats don't bother me, but sometimes younger children
scare me. I love children ages 10 and up.. I like soft belly rubs and
I know really young humans don't mean any harm, but I would be
happiest with a family who has older children. I LOVE dogs! All dogs!
I like beagles, pugs, Pomeranians, mastiffs, pitties.... It really
doesn't matter what shape or size! I would love a big backyard, and my
foster mom says that it is best that a fence of 6 feet or higher would
keep me safe in my new backyard. Please let me be your forever dog, I
can't wait to meet my new family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MOLLY, a CHICAGO Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in CHICAGO, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in CHICAGO.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in CHICAGO already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a CHICAGO breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in CHICAGO paves the way for another one to be saved.
