My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Flanagan has obviously lost his owner. Flanagan arrived at our rescue after a local resident spotted him looking rather bewildered and roaming on a back road. She stopped, he came right to her, and he jumped into the front seat of her car ready to go for a ride. He was brought to our rescue and we posted pictures of him to look for his owner, but no one has come forward to claim him. Flanagan has been well cared for. He was a healthy weight and his coat feels like silk. He is testing heart worm negative and we have him on all his monthly preventatives. He had not been neutered, but that has been done AND he is up to date on vaccinations. Flanagan also surprised us in knowing his basic commands like "sit", "stay" so we wish we knew what his real name is. We named him Flanagan because that was the road that he was found on. He is an absolutely gorgeous dog, friendly in every way. He is great with adults, children, and other dogs. Appears to be very cat friendly too. Flanagan loves his dog house and frequently is spotted taking a nap inside the igloo. But he is ready, willing, and able to go for a walk or especially loves a ride in the car. He also appears to be house broken and is good in a crate. They really don't come more perfect than Flanagan.
We know that hunting breed dogs are not always a favorite, but Flanagan has so many wonderful qualities going for him. He is a great medium size, sheds very little, and rarely barks. When he does bark, it is not a baying sound, but a bark, and it is usually for a reason as an alert to something out of the ordinary. He loves his chew toys, and will reward you with a lick on the hand or a lick in the face. Love bug of the first degree. Flanagan can be transported at anytime and is hoping that Santa Paws is bringing him a forever home for Christmas.
