Leopold 6 -8 yr old male White Mitted Red and White Maine Coon
The first three photos are his shelter photos. Any cat that looks this good on newspaper in a stainless steel shelter cage is a good looking boy indeed. It is well know that I love the big Red, or Orange if you wish, Maine Coon boys. Of course, when asked I had to say, "Yes I will take him."
He was 16 pounds in the shelter and has lost a couple pounds since then but he is till a big boy kitty. He is a plush creature with a very deep saturated red coat. I always love the snowy white feet and bib some of these red boys have. He was a little matted near his rear and we shaved him a little there. Yes, of course, he purred as we did it..
When he arrived he was super shy. He wanted to hide his head under a blanket and have nothing to do with us but he purred when we petted him. Now that I know him better and he has settled into be more outgoing, I have a theory about him. I think he is heartbroken. He loves attention and purrs if you stroke him but other than that I think he is sad. You can see it in his eyes. We don’t know his history. Did his owner die? Was he left behind somewhere? Something has hurt him and he needs a loving home in which to regain his happiness.
He will be a wonderful companion to someone who loves him and cuddles him all the time. His heart will heal and his magnificent Red Tabby Maine Coon loving, quirky, entertaining nature will shine forth again . I was first told at the shelter that he was 6 yrs old and then his paperwork said 8 yrs old so I figure he is 7 yrs old .He didn’t come with a birth certificate so this is a guess. He is a healthy kitty.
Someone will be very lucky to get to help this boy and have his grateful companionship.
He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
