Facts about Tonka

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Unknown
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 7725249

Tonka is a dog who had a rough start. His 'puppyhood' included malnourishment, then abandonment at the shelter with his 2 sisters, Tori & Tina. Tonka is seven years old and has never had a home of his own. He is being offered as a permanent foster. He recently had spinal surgery, and as you can see he is doing great. However, because he will never have a perfect back, and people are reluctant to adopt a dog (no matter how wonderful) who has a health issue, AALOC will pay his vet bills if you will give him a home, love him and care for him. Please consider Tonka. He is really a sweet, loving, playful dog. He deserves to have his own someone to love. Behavioral Details OK with Cats: N/A OK with Dogs: Yes Housebroken: Not sure; did well after a few days when in foster home. OK with Kids: Older Obedience Training: Sit Donation of $150 for dog adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit(in Orange County, CA). For more information on adoption policies visit our homepage at www.aaloc.org. About Animal Assistance League of Orange County

About Our Shelter...

The Animal Assistance League of Orange County is a non-profit 501(c)3 no kill humane society dedicated to aiding lost and homeless pets, helping people with pet related problems, promoting responsible pet-ownership and pet population control, and preventing cruelty to animals through educational programs.

The organization took its first steps in 1973 with a few animal lovers who wanted to reunite pet owners with lost pets. Today there is a no-kill shelter located in Midway City, with a population of approximately 110 cats and dogs. There is a telephone/email helpline that assists pet owners with a variety of issues, including spay/neuter, pet aid for low-income pet owners, animal abuse and any number of other issues related to cats and dogs.

AALOC is managed almost entirely by volunteers. The reason we do what we do is that we care deeply about animal welfare and hope to make a difference - at least in our part of the world.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our no-kill shelter is located at 15102 Jackson Street, Midway City, CA 92655. Potential adopters can visit any day from 10:00-3:00.
