Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Helen is an absolute sweet soul who happens to be blind. PAWS rescued her from a shelter in Indiana. The shelter put out a mass email to rescue groups pleading to please take this amazing sweet girl that people are passing up on at the shelter.
Helen is a lab mix about 18 months old, spayed and current with vaccinations. She weighs about 40#. She learns her way around very quickly, and she was amazing at mastering steps to and from the second floor in her foster home. She goes up very independently on her own, but foster family supervises as she walks down just to keep her safe. She is fearful of other dogs when she first meets them, because the other dogs in her original home were intolerant of her and bit her when she ran into them. Although Helen can make friends with some dogs, the ideal home would be where she is the only pet. She is a gentle, kind sweetheart that you can't help falling in love with. We are requiring a regular fence (no electric fences). Helen is not totally housebroken in her foster home. She is wearing a belly band in the house (a female doggie diaper) while she is becoming housebroken. She does use the bathroom outside and is highly praised when she goes potty outside!
