  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 7981747
  • Hair: Short
Handsom, very mellow young cat

Ernest's rescuer writes: Ernest found us last February when he showed up hungry at our back door. As the months went by he became much friendlier. We don't want him to spend the winter outside as he is totally adoptable now and brought him inside. He is neutered, vaccinated, FeLV negative but FIV positive, approximately one year old.

Ernest is a very mellow fellow, loves to be petted and talks a lot! He is not sure about being picked up, but I think with a little help he could learn to love it. He adores being petted on his nose and will gives tons of head butts. He is also just learning how to play and enjoys chasing a shoe string very much. But most of all Ernest loves to hang out and watch the show outside the window and check out the room from his vantage point. Ernest should be the only pet in the house, as he doesn't know dogs and doesn't need cats :) Please contact Suprina11@verizon.net if you would like to meet Ernest in his Harlem foster home.

About Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
