My name is Bucky, and I’m looking to adopt a human. I am 68 pounds of love and handsomeness in the body of a healthy, neutered male pit bull mix, whose heart is twice as big as my head! Since I spent so much time in a shelter, the vet is only able to guess my age to be four to five years old. Since I’m a well-mannered, active pup who is house and crate trained, I’m looking for a human that can spend time walking or jogging with me! If there are small humans in the house, that’s ok because I’m great with children. I’m also good with female dogs, but selective with males. I don’t care for kitty cats. I’ve received training for leash walking, and do very well on a Halti lead, which will be provided with me, along with lots of other items that people have donated through my Amazon Wish List (I’m a very popular boy and even have my own Facebook page!) I LOVE to snuggle and am very affectionate. My foster mom says that I’m a real gentleman who will be the perfect companion dog for you! I’m up to date on all my preventatives and shots, and am currently in a foster home with another female dog.

About Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue is a group of dedicated volunteers who provide love, veterinary care, obedience training, socialization and safe housing for homeless animals. Our focus is high risk pit bull type dogs in our local shelters. Pets taken into LPAR will stay with us until their forever homes are found, no matter how long that may be. We believe no matter what the breed, background, age, or disability, all animals deserve a second chance or as we prefer to say, "A new beginning". Each animal we rescue has a special place in our hearts. Our goal is to make the best match possible for both the pets and those looking to adopt a new family member. Lilo’s Promise conducts community educational programs emphasizing the importance of spay/neuter, obedience training, bite prevention for children, BSL, and the joy of adopting a homeless dog or cat.

Lilo’s Promise is a volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization

Our Adoption Process...

Please read the following adoption policies and guidelines before applying for a dog for adoption:

Adopters must be at least 25 years old.

Interested adopters are required to complete an Adoption Questionnaire prior to setting up a time to meet our dogs for adoption.

All current/previous pets in your home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

Provide 2 personal references.

Provide your veterinarian’s information (if you have a current pet and veterinarian or have owned a pet within the past 10 years).

We require landlord name and phone numbers for all renters interested in adopting.

A home visit is required as part of the adoption process.

LPAR has the right to deny any application. For example: certain dogs may require a fenced in yard, homes on main roads may or may not be considered, certain dogs will not be adopted to families with young children.

An adoption fee is required. All pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative and on flea/tick preventative.
