Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sasquatch was rescued from a kill shelter where he was brought in as a stray. What a great cat he is! A Furry Friends volunteer went to the shelter and was immediately told she had to go see the "Norwegian Forest" cat that had just come in. It was love at first site and so she tagged him for rescue if no one came to claim him, which as is so often the case, they did not. Sasquatch is a gentle fluffy giant and gets along with everyone and everything. He will sit in his foster mom's lap purring and every so often look up at her with his beautiful green eyes and meow his appreciation. This is a superb cat; he gets along with kids, cats and dogs. Sasquatch is not high energy; he is all about relaxation and affection. If this gorgeous guy fits the bill for your next forever family member, please fill out an application and adopt him today!
NOTE: Sasquatch is FIV positive, but don't let this scare you! Sasquatch is young and perfectly healthy, except that he carries this virus. FIV is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Cats can live long, healthy lives with FIV. FIV is transmitted to other cats via bites (must be transmitted through blood) or reproduction and is not transferred via litterboxes or food bowls. The virus only lives outside the cat for 2-3 hours so it is not extremely contagious to other cats in nonaggressive households. FIV is ABSOLUTELY NOT transmittable to humans and dogs. Sasquatch needs no special care. Many people have FIV+ cats and do not know it, as it is asymptomatic and without a blood test, it cannot be diagnosed.
