My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the best little border girl- Olive! Olive is a small, compact bundle of energy and smarts! She is under between 7-8 months, weighs about 27lbs and was rescued out of high kill Gordon County shelter in north Georgia mountains. Olive loves attention, she settles down very quickly when you touch her. We suspect she was carried around a lot as a little puppy and probably dropped at the shelter due to her high energy and acrobatic abilities and her former owner’s lack of training! Olive is the classic Border collie in that she is VERY smart and needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She gets along very well with fosters other dogs of all sizes and temperaments. This lovely girl is looking for a forever home that “gets her breed” and can help her get plenty of play, either human or dog-wise. She is super loving and very affectionate- and is really hoping for that BC adopter who needs and wants an agility partner as Olive is more than ready for doggie-sports!! She can fly through the air at a toss of a Frisbee or flick of her leash! She’s ready for you to channel that energy and wear her out mentally and physically. Olive’s foster mom, while very loving, is not skilled in the art of Border Collie/Heelers- so we are seeking an adopter who is skilled in helping this terrific girl who is very eager to please. Foster mom Tracy has been following our trainer’s walking method and working on her leash skills. But she needs more room to play and an adopter that loves her great trainability. Olive is great in the house, calm and quiet and totally crate trained. She wants to be around you and is very devoted and attentive to her people. She is house trained and will bark as a warning to her peeps as well. Olive will be your top student as she needs and wants a job to do, is so smart and only needs you to tell her what to do! She is ready for herding trials or fly ball too….she’s a great age to be ready for it all. Olive enjoys learning and crashes happily at your feet after physical or mental exercise. She is loving and loyal and a great play partner for your other dogs- especially if they are energetic too! Lovely Olive is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped and is hoping to fly to Seattle on Dec. 12th. Olive will be too much for small children until her owners channel her energy and playfulness. If you know Olive’s breeds, and are looking for a best buddy and eager sports enthusiast to make you both happy- then Olive is totally your girl!! Olive also is fine around foster Mom’s inside and outside cats, horses and pet pig Ozzie. Olive’s adoption fee is $400 and for any questions contact Pam at www.raincityrescue@gmail.com. To apply online go to www.raincityrescue.com (choose adopt tab to find the app button). Model, type “A” student and most loving girl Olive can’t wait to get out of crappy Georgia and into her fast and friendly forever family home!
