Phyllis's Story...
This precious little girl is approx 3 yrs and 12 lbs, she is a bichon/poodle mix, she has the most wonderful personality and is just one of the most adorable dogs you will meet. We had to shave her down when we rescued her as she was so matted, but we have her on vitamins and her coat is filling in nicely. She was treated for heart worms and is also on a monthly heart worm preventative. She is house, leash and crate trained by her foster mom and loves going on walks and going to doggie daycare. She gets along great with other dogs. We prefer an all adult house hold.

The total adoption cost of $425 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport ($225), spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a pre paid registration($200). The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phyllis, a Allentown Bichon Frise/Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise/Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Bichon Frise/Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise/Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Bichon Frise/Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
