My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very devoted, we can't help but think of Nina. Her smile is shining...and maybe just a bit shy. We know it's morning when Nina's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a huge kiss of love.
This curious and really, really smart approximately 9 - 12 month old, 14 lb Shih Tzu/Poodle mix is a truly great companion. There aren't any visible signs, except perhaps a moment of shyness, that Nina was in a very scary high-kill shelter. She can be a bit uncertain in some situations..but a warm hug and reassuring words..and Nina bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer on her favorite person'a lap.
We picture Nina as the best friend to retirees or a family with kids 12+. She'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share her love and good will. There's also no question that Nina would be the most popular girl on the block. Once comfortable, she loves to engage and just be her entertaining, adorable self. Even though Nina is usually up for pretty much any activity, she's never pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps a leisurely walk to socialize with neighbors..and mental stimulation that comes from her time with her humans is important to this young pup to keep her happy and well-behaved. it's not that she requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep her healthy and stimulated. Nina would also enjoy time with older (12+), very gentle, dog-loving kids. She's such an easy pup to engage with and bring along on any adventure. You can just scoop her up and she'll lie happily in your arms. Or a hike would be so fun for Nina..she'd love the sunshine and time together. Nina derives so much joy from her relationships, we would love to see her in a family that just loves her dearly...she's a great pup who deserves this in her life. This adorable and really humorous Shih Tzu/Poodle is a non-shedding girl. Nina will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her stunning coat (with the beautiful markings) cotton-soft and matt-free.
We've requested that Nina be spayed in Kansas...but we're not absolutely certain that will happen. If not, Farfel's will be happy to cover the cost of Nina's fixing and microchip if done at our vet in Denver.

Nina will arrive on transport in Denver on Tuesday 12/9. If interested in this sweet and devoted lap dog extraordinaire, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
