Ernie and Bert's Story...
These boys are so much fun. They are sure to bring laughter and love to your home. When they entered foster care, they were skittish and scared but over time have become loving and confident. Ernie is more serious while Bert is more loveable. Both will follow you around inspecting your work and asking silent questions while they take it all in. They love to play. Ernie likes his catnip mouse while Bert likes articles of clothing with your scent on them. He has been known to retrieve socks from the laundry and carry them around. Be particularly vigilant of your food as a steak has been known to disappear from the platter and a piece of pizza from the fridge. There is never a dull moment. Tons of laughter!

If you are interested in adopting Ernie and Bert, please go to to our website at http://www.aohrescue.org to complete the cat adoption application. Ernie and Bert are available for adoption at the Monticello Petsmart.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ernie and Bert, a Anoka Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Anoka, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Anoka.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Anoka already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Anoka breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Anoka paves the way for another one to be saved.
