You may recognize Louie's large dimensions and lovable face from those of his two brothers, Huey and Dewey. The three were found in downtown Jackson, living in the underground world below the streets. The dogs were just pups then, but have grown to be large in stature and personality. However, these early days on the streets have made Louie a bit anxious. When we took him out of his pen for photographs, we were worried his nervous energy wouldn't allow us to get the photo that he so rightly deserves. Reaching the play yard, Louie took off, letting his long strides carry him in wide circles around the camera. But a strange and great thing happened next; we realized that, as long as someone was touching Louie and providing him gentle reassurance, he'd show his bright smile for the camera and the world. This is a dog that needs a person. Someone to love him, care for him, and comfort him. Louie is a big lug full of love, and for the right family, he can provide a lifetime of companionship. Louie has a very unique coat and coloring. His top coat is black, but his under coat is light in color (like his brother Huey). Occasionally, under the right light you can see both. Louie weighs in around 40 lbs, and is neutered and UTD on shots. If you think you'd like Louie to be part of your life, come meet him today. And if you're interested in volunteering at ARF, this big guy could sure use some more people time.
