It was a dark and stormy night….

Is this a bad beginning of an even worse story? No. This is the beginning of Allie’s road to Beagle Maryland. Indeed, it was during a stormy and rainy night that Allie was picked up as a stray in rural Virginia. She was soaked to the bone, terrified and had obviously recently been separated form her pups. So she came along with the animal control officer and won the hearts of all those who met her. It took some e-mails and phone calls, a bath that made her coat shine like dark copper and … Allie arrived at her foster home.

This beautiful copper nose beagle has light brown eyes that look straight into yours. She is very good with children and very tolerant of the resident baby boy.

Allie may prefer to be an only dog – who knows what happened to her in her past? She may have been penned in with other dogs and, being rather petite, may have had a hard time. Now, she enjoys playing with her dog foster siblings in the yard.

Allie’s foster mom: “This sweet girl just wants to cuddle with you on the couch. She loves to go for walks and is very excited to see you when you get home. It does take her some time to get used to other dogs. She wants to be the one to introduce herself versus having dogs come up to her.”

Allie has no problem with crate training.

Adoptive Status: Spayed, UTD on shots and micro-chipped.
Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love her.
Owner Aptitude Level: Beginner. Allie is a mellow girl.
